We don’t need to sell you on the benefits of eating healthy, regular exercise, and losing weight. You work hard and avoid temptations, all for the sake of getting slimmer.

But along the way, you may struggle with the challenges, lose motivation, and quit before the finish line. Setting mini-goals and celebrating every milestone is the best way to avoid this frustration.

When we reward ourselves for reaching a goalpost, we appreciate the hard work it took to get there. And we grow more confident that the next one isn’t that far off.

It goes without saying that food rewards will set you back by a lot.

But there are other ways that we can motivate ourselves with weight loss rewards that don’t involve food. Here are some ideas.

1. When the Pounds Drop, Shop!

One of the biggest milestones on your way to your ideal weight is when you experience your first wardrobe malfunction. When your clothes don’t fit you anymore, then you’ve earned the right to shop for new ones!

2. Treat Your Aching Muscles Right

You may have a set routine of exercises or fun activities to lose weight but at the end of the week, your muscles will be quite sore. It’s only fitting that you give your muscles a pat on the back or several pats! Reward your hardworking muscles with a relaxing massage.

3. M,M,M Makeover!

Why not get a new look for your new figure? Get a haircut, a facial, a mani-pedi, or all of the above.

When you look good, you feel good too. Use that feeling to motivate yourself to look even better!

4. Pamper Yourself for a Day

Have a day where you can just relax. Be selfish. You deserve that nice bubble bath without any distractions. And after that bath, you can have a guilt-free sleep!

5. See a Movie

And we don’t mean that critically-acclaimed movie everyone is raving about unless that’s what you really want. Watch the movie that you know you’re going to enjoy. Even if it had terrible reviews or bombed in the box office, what matters is your own fun.

6. Go out with Your Friends

It’s okay to get your drink on every now and then, but not too much! Check out some of the best rooftop bars in town or go to a comedy club. Celebrating with the people close to you is one of the best rewards you can give yourself for a job well done.

7. Or Stay at Home

There are plenty of activities that you can do without going outside. If you have a favorite author who released a new book, grab a copy and binge read.

Or you can invite your friends over for some board games, mahjong, or a Dungeons and Dragons session.

8. Level up Your Workout Gear

As you go further on your workout goals, this reward becomes a necessity. You’ll be stronger and slimmer so your old workout gear may not fit anymore.

You can also shop for things that will help you get more pumped up. Examples are a new Bluetooth headset, a music subscription, or a new blender for your smoothies.

9. Take a Trip

Whether it’s a weekend vacation or just a day trip, find a nice place where you can have fun. Go hiking with friends and family or go to an amusement park.

Or head to a tropical resort so you can flaunt your new bod.

10. Get on Camera

You can even have professional photos taken. This reward serves two purposes. First, you can document your progress and be encouraged by it.

Second, you can post it on Instagram or Facebook and get some needed praise! Praise is one of the best motivators you can get.

Enjoy Your Weight Loss Rewards

When you reach a goal or an achievement, not only do you deserve these weight loss rewards, you need them. They will lift your spirits up so you can continue on your way to a healthy lifestyle.
