1. Skillet Tuna Noodle Casserole

When trying to slim down, planning meals can really take up time. A one-pan meal such as this casserole can be one of the best ways to prepare tuna. Use whole-wheat egg noodles, and you get the protein-packed tuna punch with essential healthy carbs. 

All it needs is noodles, mushrooms, peas, onions, and white wine. Add them to a pan, placing your cooked noodles on top. Stir in the canned tuna, and you have it. 

To serve, add black pepper and some sprinkles of parmesan. For an added crunch, some toasted breadcrumbs over the top. 

2. Green Chilli, Tuna and Zucchini

This is one of the best low calories tuna recipes for keto enthusiasts. You can make it very cheaply with canned tuna. However, a low-cost bluefin tuna really makes the dish come alive. 

Start by spiralizing your zucchini. Mix two egg yolks, dijon mustard, and sea salt in a blender. Drizzle in olive oil as you do, adding a dash of lemon juice. 

Take this mix and combine it with your tuna and green chilies. In a pan, add onion, celery, and seasoning. Add full-fat milk to this and stir so you get a sauce that is no longer clumping together. 

Finish by cooking your spiralized zucchini in a pan of boiling water, then adding to the mixture. Toss everything together and place in an oven-proof dish. Bake it for around 20 minutes, so you get a golden coloration on the top. 

3. Tuna Stack

This is one of the low fat tuna recipes that really plays a variation on a classic. If you love sushi, then this is a fantastic take. 

Start by cooking your sushi rice and letting it go cold. Dice mango, cucumber, and red onion. Scoop out the flesh from an avocado, season it, then mash it in a bowl. 

From here, you need to prepare your tuna. You can use canned tuna that is well-drained, or you may choose to use a high-grade sashimi tuna. Either of these will work well. 

You now need four cups with flat bottoms to act as the stack. In each one, flatten out the mango salad. Layer the avocado on top of this, pressing down neatly. 

Compress this, then add the tuna mixture. Smooth it out, then finish with a layer of rice. Chill the completed stacks as this will make them easier to remove. 

To serve, turn them upside down on a plate and let them emerge. If they get stuck, run a thin knife around the inside.
